Description
Andromeda is a long, narrow rectangle of light gold, 90 x 30cm, with fourteen small LED emitters set into the frame so the light reads as a line rather than a row of points. The tone is warm white, nearer the colour of an old incandescent bulb than daylight, and the fitting is switched rather than dimmed. The driver comes with it.
We reach for it over a long dining table, a kitchen island or a run of worktop, where the shape of the frame follows the shape of what sits beneath. The output is generous enough to light an open plan room on its own, and because the emitters run along a broad frame the light spreads wide instead of falling in one tight pool. We would hang it as the main light and keep everything else low, with table lamps for the evening. Keep it to dry rooms indoors on an ordinary household supply: dining rooms, kitchens and hallways rather than a bathroom or a covered porch.
The frame is slim and squared off, finished in a soft pale gold that sits quietly against white plaster, warm timber and pale walls alike. Dust it with a dry cloth from time to time, with the power off and the fitting cool, and keep polishes and solvents away from the plating. It carries a three year warranty, and the LEDs are built in. Round Andromeda pendants in several diameters and shorter rectangles sit in the same range, so round versions over an island can answer this one over the table.

Frequently Asked
How much light does it give?
The fourteen LEDs produce around 7050 lumens in total at 3000K warm white, which is enough to serve as the main light in a large dining room or open plan kitchen.
Can it be dimmed?
No. It is a non-dimmable fitting, so it is best paired with a standard on/off switch.
How long can it hang?
The drop is adjustable from 230mm at its shortest to 1800mm at its longest, which covers everything from a low ceiling to a stairwell or a double height room.
Do I ever need to change the LEDs?
The LEDs are integral, with an average life of 30,000 hours, so there is nothing to replace in normal use.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 4.4kg.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms away from splashes and steam.
