Description
The Ambar Twin Tilt is a rectangular recessed downlight housing two independently adjustable GU10 lamp holders within a 175mm x 92mm brushed chrome aluminium frame. Each lamp head tilts and rotates within its aperture, allowing both beams to be aimed at different points within the same space rather than being locked to a fixed downward position.
Designed for residential kitchens, dining areas, commercial retail spaces and hospitality interiors where directional accent lighting is needed, the twin configuration suits rectangular dining tables, kitchen islands, artwork displays and corridor runs. The adjustable heads mean both lamps can be angled towards a central table surface, or one aimed at a worktop edge while the other lights the centre, giving installation flexibility that fixed downlights cannot match. The 22mm recessed depth and 70mm minimum void requirement fit standard UK ceiling construction without needing extended voids.
The brushed chrome finish on the aluminium frame provides a cool metallic accent that pairs with modern, industrial and minimalist interiors. The square-edge design sits flush with the plasterboard or ceiling tile surface with only a 3mm projection once installed. The drop-down lamp holders mean bulbs can be changed from below without removing the fitting from the ceiling, and the tool-free cable termination allows loop-in/loop-out wiring during second fix without screwdrivers. Each lamp holder accepts a GU10 bulb up to 10W (bulbs sold separately), giving a combined maximum load of 20W for the twin fitting.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The Ambar Twin Tilt accepts two GU10 bulbs up to 10W each (20W total maximum). Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED GU10s between 5-7W and 2700K-3000K for general lighting, or 4000K for task lighting in kitchens.
Can the lamp heads be adjusted after installation?
Yes. Both lamp heads tilt and rotate independently within their apertures, allowing the light beams to be aimed at different points even after the fitting is installed. This is useful for adjusting lighting as furniture positions change.
What ceiling void depth is needed?
A minimum 70mm void above the ceiling surface is required. The fitting itself has a 22mm recessed depth, with the remainder needed for lamp clearance and thermal ventilation around the bulbs.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means this fitting is not protected against moisture ingress and should only be installed in dry internal spaces. For bathrooms, Knightsbridge produces IP65-rated downlights in the same Ambar range.
