Description

The Ambar Quad is a 175mm square recessed downlight housing four independently tiltable GU10 lamp holders in white powder-coated aluminium. Each lamp holder rotates and tilts within its aperture, allowing the four beams to be aimed at different points within a room rather than directing all four downward in parallel. This makes the fitting useful over dining tables, kitchen islands and reception desks where light needs to reach multiple surfaces or zones from a single ceiling cut-out.

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the Ambar Quad requires a 165mm square cut-out and a minimum 70mm void depth above the ceiling. The fitting projects just 3mm below the ceiling line once installed, keeping a low profile suitable for rooms with ceiling heights under 2.4m. The drop-down lamp holder design allows GU10 bulbs to be changed from below without needing to remove the fitting or access the void.

The aluminium construction is finished in white powder coat and rated IP20, restricting use to dry indoor environments. The fitting accepts four GU10 bulbs up to 10W each (sold separately), with dimming capability dependent on the bulb chosen. Knightsbridge supplies tool-free cable terminals inside the void for loop-in/loop-out wiring, reducing second-fix installation time on multi-fitting runs. The 5-year warranty covers the fitting hardware but does not extend to separately purchased lamps.

What void depth is required above the ceiling?

A minimum 70mm void depth is required to accommodate the fitting body and wiring. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 22mm, and the visible projection below the ceiling is just 3mm once installed.

Can each lamp be aimed independently?

Yes. Each of the four GU10 lamp holders tilts and rotates within its aperture, allowing the beams to be aimed at different points. This is useful over dining tables or kitchen islands where you want light on multiple surfaces rather than four parallel beams.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The fitting takes four GU10 bulbs up to 10W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Dimming capability depends on the bulb you choose — pair with dimmable GU10 LEDs if you want dimmer control.

Can the bulbs be changed without removing the fitting?

Yes. The drop-down lamp holder design allows GU10 bulbs to be twisted out and replaced from below the ceiling without needing to access the void or remove the fitting.
