Description
The Knightsbridge Ambar quad tilt square downlight houses four independently adjustable GU10 lamp holders behind a 175mm square brushed chrome aluminium bezel. Each head tilts within its aperture, allowing light to be aimed at different points across a table, worktop or display area from a single ceiling position.
Designed for residential dining rooms, kitchens, and commercial hospitality spaces, the quad configuration works where multiple light sources are needed from one fixture — a dining table where each head aims at a different place setting, or a kitchen island where heads are angled to eliminate shadows across the work surface. The 22mm recessed depth and 70mm minimum void requirement make it suitable for ceilings with limited plenum space. The square-edge brushed chrome bezel sits close to the ceiling plane with only 3mm projection, giving a flush architectural finish.
The aluminium construction carries Class II double-insulation and an IP20 rating for dry indoor use. Each of the four lamp holders accepts standard GU10 bulbs up to 10W (sold separately), with dimming capability dependent on bulb choice. The drop-down lamp holder design allows bulbs to be replaced without removing the bezel, and the tool-free cable termination with loop-in/loop-out supports rapid installation in multi-fixture layouts.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take and are they included?
The Ambar quad takes four GU10 bulbs up to 10W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use LED GU10 bulbs between 5-7W, which provide equivalent light to 50W halogen while drawing far less power.
Can the heads be angled independently?
Yes. Each of the four lamp holders tilts independently within its aperture, allowing different aim points across a table or surface. This makes the quad useful for dining tables or kitchen islands where uniform coverage is needed from a single fixture.
What ceiling void depth is required?
A minimum 70mm void above the ceiling is required to accommodate the lamp holders and wiring. The recessed depth of the fitting itself is 22mm, and the cut-out required is 165mm square.
Is it dimmable?
Dimming depends on the GU10 bulbs fitted. If you fit dimmable LED GU10 bulbs, the fixture will dim on a compatible LED dimmer. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim regardless of the switch used.
