Description

The Ambar is a 3-light recessed downlight with fully adjustable GU10 lamp holders set in a brushed chrome aluminium bezel measuring 260mm x 92mm. Each of the three heads tilts independently, allowing light to be directed at different points across a kitchen worktop, dining table or display surface without needing multiple ceiling apertures.

Designed for residential kitchens, dining rooms, commercial hospitality and retail interiors where directed light is required, the Ambar sits almost flush with the ceiling (3mm projection) and requires a 70mm ceiling void and a 245mm x 80mm rectangular cut-out. The lamp holders drop down from the bezel for rapid bulb changes without removing the fixture, and the tool-free termination system uses an intuitive loop-in/loop-out design for second-fix installation.

The brushed chrome finish is a brushed aluminium surface with a cool metallic tone that pairs with both contemporary and classical interiors. The square-edged bezel design gives a defined geometric profile against plasterwork. Each lamp holder accepts a standard GU10 bulb up to 10W (bulbs sold separately), with dimmer compatibility dependent on the bulb specification chosen. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations only.

What bulbs does it take?

The Ambar takes three GU10 bulbs up to 10W each, sold separately. Knightsbridge offers dimmable, non-dimmable and SmartKnight GU10 options in various colour temperatures. Most users pair this fitting with 5-7W warm white LEDs at 2700K-3000K.

What ceiling void is needed?

A minimum 70mm ceiling void is required for the lamp holder assembly. The rectangular cut-out measures 245mm x 80mm. The bezel sits nearly flush with the ceiling surface, projecting only 3mm once installed.

Can the lamp heads be angled?

Yes. Each of the three GU10 lamp holders tilts independently within its aluminium housing, allowing light to be aimed at different points across a worktop, table or display area without needing to angle the entire fixture.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Ambar to dry interior locations only. For bathrooms, zones 1 and 2 require IP44 or IP65 rated fittings. The Ambar is suitable for kitchens, dining rooms, hallways and living spaces.
