Description

Three tiers of clear Asfour crystal rise around a gold frame, layered so that light from thirty-seven candle lamps is caught and thrown back into the room. At 108cm across it reads as a broad, bright canopy rather than a narrow drop, and the E14 lampholders sit within the tiers, so the glow comes from inside the crystal rather than from above it. The drop is adjustable over a generous span, letting the height be set to suit the ceiling.

It is a chandelier for rooms with real height: a galleried hall, a stairwell where it can be read from the landing as well as the hall below, a large formal dining room or a hotel lounge. We would hang it only where there is plenty of clearance above head height, and we reach for it where a single slim pendant would look lost in the volume. Dimmable lamps and a dimmer will take it from full sparkle down to a low, warm wash for dinner.

The frame is finished in gold, the crystal is clear Asfour, and the tiers are assembled drop by drop so the whole fitting gathers and splits light at close range. Dust dulls crystal faster than it dulls metal, so work tier by tier with a dry lint-free cloth, power off and lamps cold, using a barely damp cloth only on marks that resist. It carries a one year warranty, and it is meant for dry, heated rooms indoors. Lamps are not included, and we would fit LED candle lamps on E14. The wider range runs from smaller ceiling fittings up through two-layer spiral pendants, in gold and in polished chrome.
