Description
Plenty of modern fittings, drivers and light bars terminate in an IEC connector rather than bare cable, and this is the lead that joins them up. It has a male plug at one end and a female at the other, on black three core flex, so power passes from one to the next with nothing to strip or trim. At 205cm it covers a decent gap without leaving a heap of cable to hide. We keep it on the shelf as one of those small parts that stops a job stalling for want of a cable.
It suits linked runs of under cupboard lighting, display cabinets, shelf lights and plinth lights, where a single driver feeds several fittings and each hop wants its own lead. It is just as handy for bringing a fitting within reach of a spare power point, or for standing in where a short original lead no longer stretches after the furniture has been moved. The black sheath stays quiet against dark carcassing, the back of a unit or a painted skirting board. Keep it to dry rooms indoors; it is not made for damp or exposed spots.
The plugs are moulded onto the flex, and the cable is supple enough to be dressed round a corner or run along the back of a cupboard without kinking. Looking after it is simple: pull the connector apart, wipe the flex with a dry cloth, and glance over the mouldings for nicks or crushing before it goes back into service. It carries a one year warranty. The same range runs to a longer version of this lead, plus cable grips and black and white lampholders, so the bits and pieces for a small job can be gathered in one go. We would always keep a spare in the drawer.

Frequently Asked
What connectors are on each end?
One end is a male IEC plug and the other a female IEC plug, so leads can be chained from a driver or feed point to a fitting, or between fittings.
How long is the lead?
It measures 2050mm, or 205cm, overall including the moulded plugs.
What cable is used?
Three core flex with 0.75mm conductors, sheathed in black.
Can it be used in a bathroom or outside?
No. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor positions only, away from splashes and weather.
Is a longer lead available?
Yes, we also stock a 3m version of the same lead in this range.
How should it be cleaned?
Disconnect it, then wipe the sheath with a dry or barely damp cloth. Avoid solvents, and let it dry fully before it is reconnected.
