Description

This small white converter turns a single E27 lampholder into three, each holder carried on its own adjustable arm so the lamps can be splayed wide or drawn in to suit the shade around them. The body measures 13cm across, which keeps the holders tucked inside a drum or a large globe shade while spreading the light rather than concentrating it centrally. There is no switch on the converter itself, so the fitting stays under whatever control already operates it.

We reach for this where a single pendant is not pulling its weight: a wide paper shade in a living room, a hallway light that has always felt thin, or a floor lamp whose shade is far broader than the lamp inside it. A spread of modest lamps reads softer and more even than a single bright lamp, and each holder takes up to 20W, which goes a long way in LED terms. Dimming is possible with suitable lamps and a suitable dimmer. It suits anyone making more of a shade they already own, and it is handy in a rented flat where the fitting itself stays as it is.

The whole piece is finished in white, holders and arms alike, and it is double insulated and light in the hand. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, and when it needs attention, turn the power off and wipe the arms over once the lamps have cooled. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock a version that splits further still, B22 to E27 converters for older holders, and plain single lampholders in white or black if a straight replacement is all that is wanted. Lamps are not included.
