Description

A lampholder is one of those parts you only think about when it fails, and this is the plain white version with a shade ring support built in. It takes a standard screw fit lamp, and the ring turns down over the body so a shade with a matching aperture sits level and stays where you put it. At 56mm across and 42mm tall it is compact enough to sit unseen beneath all but the shallowest shade. The white finish keeps it quiet against a pale flex or a pale shade lining.

We reach for this when a table lamp or a floor lamp has come apart, or when an old holder has gone brittle and yellowed and the rest of the lamp is well worth keeping. It suits anyone reviving a favourite base, making up a simple pendant, or fitting a shade that needs a ring rather than a clip. Dry rooms indoors are its home: a bedside table, a hall console, a bench lamp in the workshop. Lamp restorers tend to buy several at a time, and we are glad to sell them that way.
