Description

This is one of those small parts that decides whether a pendant looks finished or not. The grip is a compact clear moulding with an 8mm thread, sized to hold the flex of a hanging light steady where it meets the fitting above. It is barely bigger than a fingertip, and because it is clear it reads as almost nothing against a white ceiling rose or a pale cable. We keep these to hand, since they are usually the item people find they are one short of.

It suits anyone assembling a pendant from separate parts, or bringing an older light back into service with fresh flex. Clear takes on the colour of whatever sits behind it, so we reach for this version alongside clear, white or grey cable, and the black one where the flex is dark. Nothing about it asks to be noticed, which is exactly what you want from a component at the top of a cord. It is intended for dry rooms indoors, in the way any ordinary pendant fitting is.

The body is clear right through rather than coated, so there is no surface layer to chip or rub away with handling. Keeping it tidy is a matter of a dry cloth when you dust the shade below; leave solvents, sprays and cream polishes off it, as they can dull a clear moulding. It carries a three year warranty.
