Description

This white adjustable lampholder takes the place of a single lamp and gives three E27 lampholders instead, each one sitting on a short arm that pivots. That means you can angle the holders outwards to fill a wide shade, or draw them in closer for a tighter pool of light. The body measures 13cm across. Each lampholder will take up to 20W, so it is set up for LED lamps rather than older filament types, and the right choice will depend on the shade you are putting over it. There is no switch on the body and it is not dimmable.

It is most useful inside a large shade hung from one point, where a lone lamp tends to leave the fabric looking dim and blotchy. Spreading the output across the holders fills the shade far more evenly and softens the glow through the sides. We reach for it under wide drum shades and paper globes, and in rooms where a single pendant is doing all the work: a living room, a landing, or a bedroom with a generous shade above the bed. Anyone assembling a light from separate parts will find it handy as well.

The white runs across the body and the arms alike, so it stays quiet against a pale shade lining and is easy to lose from view once a shade goes over it. It is double insulated, and intended for dry rooms indoors, so keep it well away from bathrooms and anywhere steam or damp collects. For cleaning, let the lamps go cold and isolate the power first, then run a dry cloth over the arms and body; keep moisture away from the contacts. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock a version with more lampholders on it, plus plain single E27 lampholders in white and in black. Lamps are not included.

No. It is non-dimmable, and there is no switch built into the body, so it works from whatever wall switch already controls the light.

Is it suitable for a bathroom or an outbuilding?

No, it is for dry indoor rooms only. Bathrooms, porches and unheated damp spaces call for a fitting rated for those conditions.
