Description
This is a two in one plate for the kitchen: a 45A double pole rocker that isolates the cooker, with a 13A socket set alongside it for a kettle, toaster or timer. The front is orange with chrome rockers and a chrome insert, and the screwless style gives a flat, unbroken face. Double pole switching breaks both sides of the circuit when the rocker drops, which is what you want on a cooker.
Cooker control units earn their keep in kitchens and utility rooms, where the cooker needs a clear point of isolation and the worktop nearby needs power. Orange is a bold choice and a practical one: the switch is easy to spot in a hurry, which is why we like it in workshops and busy family kitchens where the plates are meant to be seen rather than hidden. The socket takes the small appliance that always ends up beside the hob, so you are not stealing a socket from further along the worktop. It suits anyone building a kitchen around strong colour, or anyone who simply wants the cooker switch to read differently from the white plates on the rest of the wall.
The plate is moulded in ABS rather than pressed metal, with the chrome insert seated in the front. Keep it clean with a dry or barely damp cloth and nothing more; kitchen sprays, cream cleaners and anything with solvent in it will dull a moulded finish over time. It carries a ten year warranty. Indoors, on a normal household supply, is where it belongs. We would keep the other switches in the room to the same screwless profile so the run along the wall reads as one thought rather than several.

Frequently Asked
How big is the plate?
It measures 146mm across and 88mm tall, so it sits as a single upright plate rather than a wide double.
What does double pole switching actually do?
It breaks both the live and neutral sides of the circuit when the rocker is off, rather than the live side alone. That is the usual arrangement for a cooker control.
What can I use the socket for?
It is a standard 13A socket, so it is for the sort of small appliance you want beside the hob: a kettle, a toaster, a hand blender. The 45A rocker is the one that serves the cooker.
How should I clean the orange finish?
A dry cloth, or one just damp with water, then dry it off. Avoid kitchen degreasers, cream cleaners, bleach and anything containing solvent, as these can leave the moulded surface patchy or dull.
Can it go in a bathroom or an outbuilding that gets damp?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms only, so kitchens and utility rooms are its place.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, it carries a ten year warranty.
