Description
This kitchen control plate combines a 45A double pole rocker for isolating the cooker with a 13A socket below it for the kettle or the toaster. The plate is a flat screwless design in light grey, with no screw heads showing on the front, and a chrome insert picking out the switching area. The body is moulded ABS, so the colour runs through the material rather than sitting on the surface as a coating. The rocker action is positive under the finger and easy to read at a glance from across the room.
We stock this for kitchen work where the cooker wants its own isolation point and a socket near the worktop earns its keep. It gives a clear on and off for an electric oven or hob without a trip to the consumer unit, while the socket takes a plug for whatever else is in use that day. Light grey sits happily next to grey and off white cabinetry, painted walls and stainless splashbacks, where a bright white plate can look stark by comparison. It is one we would also choose for a utility room, where the same pairing of a fixed appliance and a spare socket tends to come up.
The plate keeps a small footprint for the amount it carries, and the screwless front holds a clean line in a room that usually has plenty going on already. Cleaning asks very little: a dry cloth across the face, and for cooking splashes a cloth wrung out in warm water, with solvents, kitchen wipes and cream cleaners kept well away, as they take the sheen off moulded plastic. It belongs indoors on an ordinary household supply, and it needs an earth connection. It carries a ten year warranty. In a kitchen already run in flat screwless plates, it reads as part of the line rather than a break in it.

Frequently Asked
What is the 45A rocker for?
It isolates the cooker or hob at the wall, so the appliance can be switched off without going to the consumer unit. It is double pole, meaning it breaks both live and neutral when off.
Can I use the socket for everyday kitchen appliances?
Yes. It is a 13A socket, so a kettle, toaster or hand blender is all within its scope.
How big is the plate?
The plate measures 146mm by 88mm, so it is compact for a unit that carries both a cooker switch and a socket.
What is it made from, and how should it be cleaned?
The plate is moulded ABS with a chrome insert. Dust it with a dry cloth, and lift cooking splashes with a cloth wrung out in warm water. Avoid solvents and abrasive creams.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or an outdoor kitchen?
No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms on a domestic supply, and it requires an earth connection.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, it carries a ten year manufacturer's warranty.
