Description

A kitchen often needs a single plate to handle both the cooker and a worktop appliance, and that is this unit's job: a 45A double pole rocker to isolate the cooker circuit, with a 13A socket on the same plate for a kettle, toaster or hand blender. The plate is screwless copper, so the face stays clean and unbroken, while the rockers and the socket insert are chrome, which keeps the switching easy to read against the warmer metal. Compact for what it carries, it sits comfortably in a run of tiles or on the wall above a worktop.

We would choose this at the end of a hob run or beside a built-in oven, where the cooker switch should be within easy reach rather than hidden behind a splashback. It suits kitchens being refitted, utility rooms with a cooker, and annexes or flats where one plate has to serve the cooker and a countertop appliance together. The socket is a real convenience too: it leaves the other power points along the worktop free for everything else, which matters most in small kitchens where sockets are counted rather than assumed.

The body is moulded ABS with a copper finish and chrome switch detail, and it is an earthed unit for dry rooms indoors, wired to a household supply. Keep it looking right by buffing with a dry soft cloth and keeping cooking oil, steam residue and cream cleaners off the plate; nothing abrasive, and nothing wet near the switching. It carries a ten year warranty. Copper sits well with dark green or navy cabinet paint, brass handles and oiled timber, and we like it in kitchens where chrome alone would feel a little cold.

Frequently Asked

What does each part of this unit do?

The larger 45A double pole rocker isolates the cooker circuit, and the 13A socket beside it takes a plug for a small worktop appliance such as a kettle or toaster.

What size is the plate?

The plate measures 146mm by 88mm, with a back box depth of 47mm.

Can it go in a bathroom, garage or outside?

No. It is rated IP20, so it belongs in dry indoor rooms on a domestic supply, with a kitchen being its natural home.

What are the switches and socket insert finished in?

Chrome, against the copper plate, so the rockers stand out clearly when you glance at them.

How should the copper be cleaned?

A dry soft cloth, buffed gently. Avoid solvents, abrasive pads and cream cleaners, and wipe away cooking splashes before they dry on.

Is there a warranty?

Yes, it carries a ten year warranty.
