4 Gang Twin 2 Way Light Switch - Sky Blue

Four rockers sit across a single sky blue plate, each finished in chrome and each wired for two way working, so a circuit can be switched from another point in the room as well as from here. The screwless front clips over the frame beneath and leaves a clean face, with nothing on the surface but the rockers themselves. Rated at 10AX, it copes with ordinary domestic lighting loads, and the rocker action is firm and quiet under the thumb.

It earns its place where several circuits meet at the same doorway: a hallway carrying landing, porch and stair lighting, a kitchen splitting worktop, ceiling and island, or a living room where lamps and downlights are switched apart. If the same wall has to run several lights without a row of separate plates cluttering it, this puts them all under a single hand. We like a bit of colour on a plate in rooms that already have some, so this one suits a painted hallway, a child's bedroom or a coastal scheme where plain white would read as blank. It belongs in dry rooms indoors, wired into the household lighting circuit.

The plate is moulded in ABS, sky blue on the face with chrome rockers set into it, and the construction is double insulated. Keep it looking well with an occasional wipe from a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one; household sprays and cream cleaners will dull the finish, so leave those under the sink. It carries a ten year warranty. In a white room the plate reads as a small, deliberate spot of colour rather than something to hide, and it is one we would choose over brushed steel where a scheme needs a little character.

What does two way mean on all four gangs?

Each gang can be paired with another two way switch elsewhere, so a light can be turned on at one position and off at the other. Any gang can equally be used on its own as a simple on/off.

How do I keep the colour looking fresh?

A soft cloth, barely damp, then buff dry. Avoid solvents, bleach and abrasive creams, as they will take the sheen off the plate.
