Description
The Knightsbridge 4-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer controls four separate lighting zones independently, each handling 10-200W incandescent/halogen loads or 5-150W dimmable LED loads. The polished chrome screwless faceplate conceals all fixings behind a clip-on cover plate, with four matching chrome rotary dimmer caps that push on/off and rotate to adjust brightness.
Designed for residential multi-room lighting control, the dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes via the front-mounted control knob, making it compatible with different lamp technologies without rewiring. The trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LEDs and low-voltage halogens with electronic transformers, while the leading-edge mode works with older resistive loads and magnetic transformers. Each gang can be trimmed, mode-switched and reset from the front of the plate without removing the cover.
The 4.3mm projection from the wall and premium-grade steel construction give the dimmer a low-profile presence that suits contemporary and modern interiors. Overload and overheat protection shut the dimmer down if loads exceed the rated capacity or internal temperature limits are reached, while the fitted Inrush Current Limiter (ICL) prevents voltage spikes when switching on. The dimmer requires a 25mm minimum back box depth and fits standard UK 2-gang back boxes (double-width for a 4-gang plate).
Each lighting zone controlled by this dimmer must use identical dimmable lamps of the same wattage and brand — mixing lamp types, wattages or brands on a single gang causes flicker, buzzing or inconsistent dimming behaviour. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?
Trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LEDs and low-voltage halogens with electronic transformers. Leading-edge mode works with older incandescent bulbs, resistive loads and magnetic transformers. The dimmer switches between modes via the front-mounted control knob without rewiring.
Can I use different lamp brands on the same gang?
No. Each gang must use identical dimmable lamps of the same wattage and brand. Mixing lamp types, wattages or brands on a single zone causes flicker, buzzing or inconsistent dimming and may trigger overload protection.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The 4-gang plate requires a double-width (2-gang) back box. The screwless cover adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.
Can the dimmer be reset after changing lamps?
Yes. Each gang can be trimmed, mode-switched and reset from the front of the plate via the control knob, allowing recalibration if lamps are changed without removing the cover plate or rewiring.
