Description
The Knightsbridge CL2193BC is a 3-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer rated for 10-200W incandescent loads or 5-150W LED loads per gang, mounted on a brushed chrome rounded-edge faceplate. Each gang operates independently via push on/off and rotary dimming controls, with all three knobs built into a single-width steel plate. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes from the front of the plate, providing compatibility with most dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent lamps without needing to rewire or change the faceplate.
Designed for multi-zone lighting control in living rooms, bedrooms and home cinemas where separate circuits need independent dimming, the unit requires a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and uses screw terminals for permanent wiring. The 2-way switching function allows the dimmer to be paired with another switch at a different location on the same circuit, so a hallway or landing can be controlled from both ends while retaining dimming at one end. The preset trailing-edge mode suits most modern dimmable LED bulbs out of the box, while the front-accessible mode switch allows adjustment if lamps are changed later.
The brushed chrome finish has a directional grain that softens reflections and pairs with stainless steel appliances, chrome bathroom fixtures and contemporary metallic interiors. The rounded edge softens the profile against the wall compared to flat-edge plates, and the rotary knobs sit flush with the faceplate when fully dimmed. Built-in overload and overheat protection shuts the dimmer down if it exceeds safe operating temperature, while the inrush current limiter prevents LED driver damage during switch-on surges.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?
Trailing-edge dimming cuts the back end of the AC waveform and suits most dimmable LED and low-voltage electronic transformers. Leading-edge dimming cuts the front end and suits traditional incandescent, halogen and magnetic transformers. The CL2193BC ships in trailing-edge mode but can be switched to leading-edge from the front if your lamps flicker or won't dim smoothly.
Can I mix different bulb types on one gang?
No. Each gang must control lamps of the same brand, type and wattage. Mixing different LED brands or different wattages on the same circuit causes uneven dimming and can damage the dimmer or the lamps.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
What's the maximum total load?
Each of the three gangs can handle 10-200W incandescent or 5-150W LED independently. If all three gangs are loaded to maximum LED capacity simultaneously, the total load would be 450W across the three circuits.
