Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang modular faceplate accepts two 25 x 50mm euro modules or one 50 x 50mm euro module behind a brushed chrome flat plate with visible screw fixings. The faceplate is designed for custom AV, data and telecommunications installations where the exact combination of sockets, ports and connections can be configured using interchangeable euro module inserts.

Common applications include wall plates for TV installations combining coaxial, HDMI and Ethernet connections, home office setups pairing telephone and data outlets, and AV zones requiring USB charging alongside HDMI or audio inputs. The 87.5mm square faceplate fits a standard UK single-gang back box, with the required depth depending on which euro modules are fitted behind it. The plate includes an earth terminal for grounding and a gasket to seal against the back box.

The brushed chrome finish is a directional satin-brushed surface that softens reflections compared to polished chrome, pairing well with stainless steel appliances, contemporary kitchens and grey-toned interiors. What euro modules does this faceplate accept?

The faceplate accepts two 25 x 50mm euro modules side-by-side or one 50 x 50mm euro module. Common euro modules include HDMI, coaxial TV, RJ45 Ethernet, RJ11 telephone, USB charging ports, 3.5mm audio jacks, and blanking plates. Euro modules are sold separately.

What back box depth is required?

The faceplate itself is 2.5mm deep, but the required back box depth depends on which euro modules are fitted behind it. Most euro modules require a 25mm minimum back box depth, though bulkier modules such as those containing transformers or USB charging circuitry may need 35mm or deeper boxes.

Is this faceplate screwless?

No. The faceplate uses two visible screw fixings, which are shown in the image. Knightsbridge produces screwless variants in this finish if a concealed-fixing aesthetic is preferred.

Can the faceplate be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating means the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor areas only. It is not rated for zones 1 or 2 in bathrooms where water ingress is possible, and should not be installed within 3m of a shower or bath unless outside the designated IP-rated zones.
