Description

A gloss piano black faceplate with no screws showing across the front, finished with two chrome rocker switches that pick up the light against the dark plastic. It is a switched double, each 13A socket controlled independently, so you can kill power to a lamp or a charger without pulling the plug. The plate spans 146mm, the standard width for a double, and the rockers sit in a line along one edge for an even, uncluttered face.

We would use it where the plate is part of the scheme rather than something to hide: a living room wall beside a media unit, a home office desk run, a bedside where a switch saves fumbling behind the headboard. Black works hard in kitchens with dark cabinetry or a smoked glass splashback, and it sits happily in period rooms painted in deep colours as well as pared back modern ones. It is a sensible choice where a pair of appliances share one position and you would rather leave both plugged in, a router and a lamp, say, or a kettle and a toaster.

The moulding is ABS, chosen for a gloss that stays deep, with the chrome picked out on the switches.
