Chargers usually take up a socket. Here they do not: a USB-A port and a USB-C port sit on the same screwless copper plate as the two sockets, sharing 45W between them. On its own, the C port will bring a tablet or a laptop up quickly; used together, both ports charge at a gentler rate. Each gang is switched with its own rocker, so anything plugged in can be turned off without pulling the plug.

We reach for this where power points are scarce and phones pile up: a bedside table, a kitchen worktop, a desk in a spare room, or the shelf in a hallway where everything charges overnight. In a home office it saves the desk from a knot of plug-in adapters. It suits households that have outgrown extension leads and trailing cables, and it keeps both sockets free for the kettle, the lamp or the laptop supply. Plate and rockers are metal over a polycarbonate body, finished in a warm metallic copper with chrome showing behind the switches. How much charging power do the USB ports give?

45W is shared between the USB-A and USB-C ports. One device on its own can draw the higher rate, while two charging at once will split the available power.
