Description
This Knightsbridge 2-gang dimmer plate provides a blank faceplate for pairing with aftermarket dimmer modules, supplied with two matching white dimmer caps and screw cap covers. The 86mm square plate measures 7mm deep with gently rounded edges that soften the profile against the wall, and the white thermoset resin construction carries an anti-microbial coating tested to ISO 22196:2011.
Designed for residential and commercial lighting control installations where dimmer modules are purchased separately, the plate accepts Knightsbridge's own modular dimmers or compatible third-party modules. The anti-microbial coating actively reduces bacterial growth on the surface, making the plate suitable for high-touch environments including kitchens, bathrooms (within IP20 dry-zone areas), care homes and hospitality settings where hygiene standards matter.
The thermoset resin construction resists impact and surface scratching better than standard thermoplastic plates, and the 25-year warranty reflects the expected lifespan of the material. The rounded edge profile sits 7mm proud of the wall once fitted, giving a softer visual transition than sharp-edged traditional plates. The included dimmer caps and screw covers match the white finish of the plate, so no mismatched components are visible once the installation is complete.

Frequently Asked
Does this plate include dimmer modules?
No. This is a blank faceplate supplied with two dimmer caps and screw covers, designed to accept separately-purchased dimmer modules. It is compatible with Knightsbridge modular dimmers and most aftermarket modules that fit an 86mm plate.
What does the anti-microbial coating do?
The coating actively reduces bacterial growth on the surface of the plate. It has been third-party tested to ISO 22196:2011, making it suitable for high-touch areas where hygiene is a priority, such as kitchens, care facilities and hospitality environments.
Can this be used in a bathroom?
The IP20 rating means the plate is suitable for dry indoor areas only. In a bathroom, it must be installed outside zones 0, 1 and 2 (typically at least 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower). It cannot be used in areas subject to water spray or high moisture.
What is thermoset resin?
Thermoset resin is a type of plastic that is heat-cured during manufacture and cannot be re-melted. It is more resistant to impact, heat and surface scratching than standard thermoplastic plates, which is why Knightsbridge backs it with a 25-year warranty.
