The Knightsbridge 2-gang blanking plate covers unused or redundant double-gang back boxes behind a matt black screwless faceplate. The plate includes an earth terminal for safety compliance and a built-in gasket that creates a clean seal between the cover plate and the wall surface during installation.

Designed for residential, commercial and hospitality interiors, the blanking plate suits situations where a double-gang back box was installed but is no longer needed, or where future wiring provision was made but not yet required. The screwless cover clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The 4.3mm projection from the wall matches standard Knightsbridge screwless sockets and switches, allowing consistent alignment across a room.

The premium-grade steel construction provides rigidity and long-term durability, while the matt black powder-coated finish resists fingerprints and pairs cleanly with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interior schemes. Why would I need a blanking plate?

Blanking plates cover unused electrical back boxes where wiring was installed but a socket or switch is not currently required. They provide a neat finish and maintain safety compliance by preventing access to live terminals inside the back box.

Does the screwless cover remove easily?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed for redecorating or future access by unclipping it from the frame, without disturbing the wiring.

What back box does it fit?

The plate fits standard UK double-gang back boxes with 25mm minimum depth. The 87.5mm x 147.5mm faceplate dimensions match standard Knightsbridge double-gang accessories.

Can it be used in bathrooms?
