Description
The Knightsbridge FP2192PL is a 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer supporting 10-200W loads (5-150W LED) behind a pearl flat plate faceplate with matching rotary dimmer caps. Each gang controls a separate lighting circuit independently, allowing two zones to be dimmed from the same wall plate. The dimmer ships pre-set to trailing-edge mode and can be switched to leading-edge mode using the front rotary control, making it compatible with most dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent bulbs.
Designed for residential installation where two separate lighting circuits need independent dimming control from a single wall location, the dimmer suits lounge-dining open-plan spaces, kitchens with separate task and ambient lighting, and bedrooms where main ceiling and bedside wall lights are on different circuits. The 2-way wiring allows the same lighting circuit to be controlled from two different switch positions, useful in hallways, staircases and larger rooms with multiple entry points.
The pearl finish is a soft grey-beige metallic tone that sits between brushed stainless and satin nickel, pairing well with contemporary and transitional interiors. The flat plate construction projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted to a 25mm back box, giving a low-profile finish. Each rotary cap has a push on/off function and continuous rotation for dimming, with built-in overload, overheat protection and an Inrush Current Limiter (ICL) to prevent surges when switching on. Trimming and mode-switching adjustments are made using the front rotary knob, so the dimmer can be recalibrated if bulbs are changed without removing the faceplate.
For consistent dimming performance, use the same bulb brand, wattage and type across all fittings on a single gang. Mixing different LED brands or wattages on the same circuit can cause flickering or incomplete dimming range.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge mode?
Trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LED and low-voltage halogen bulbs, and is the factory default setting. Leading-edge mode is used for older incandescent, mains-voltage halogen and some transformer-based low-voltage systems. The mode can be switched using the front rotary control without removing the faceplate.
Can I mix LED and halogen bulbs on the same gang?
No. Each gang should control bulbs of the same type, brand and wattage for consistent dimming performance. Mixing different bulb technologies or wattages on the same circuit can cause flickering, buzzing or incomplete dimming range.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The flat plate projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted, giving a total depth of 27.5mm from the wall surface to the back of the back box.
How do I adjust the dimming range if my bulbs don't dim fully?
The front rotary knob can be used to trim the minimum and maximum dimming levels. Press and hold the knob while rotating to enter adjustment mode, then set the low-end and high-end points to match your specific bulbs. See the product specification sheet for the full trimming procedure.
