Description

The Knightsbridge CL2192MBB is a 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer switch rated at 10-200W per gang (5-150W LED), housed in a matt black rounded-edge metal faceplate with matching matt black rotary control caps. The dimmer can switch between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes from the front plate using the control knob, making it compatible with a wide range of dimmable LED, halogen and incandescent lamps without needing to replace the module when lamp types change.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation where two separate lighting circuits need dimming control from a single faceplate, the 2-gang configuration allows independent dimming of two different light fittings or zones. The 2-way wiring supports switching from two locations, so the dimmer can be paired with a second switch elsewhere in the room to control the same lights. The rotary action provides push on/off function and continuous rotation for dimming, with soft-start and soft-stop built in to extend lamp life.

The dimmer ships pre-set to trailing-edge mode, which suits most modern dimmable LED lamps and electronic transformers. Leading-edge mode supports older resistive and inductive loads including halogen lamps on magnetic transformers. Mode switching, minimum brightness trimming and factory reset are all accessible from the front plate without removing the faceplate or isolating supply. The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection plus an inrush current limiter to handle the higher initial current draw when switching on capacitive LED drivers.

The matt black finish provides a low-sheen surface that sits comfortably in contemporary, industrial and dark-toned interiors. The rounded edge profile softens the transition between wall and faceplate compared to sharp-edged alternatives. The premium-grade steel construction gives the faceplate rigidity and resistance to surface wear from repeated use.
