Description
The Knightsbridge FP2192BC is a 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer supporting 10-200W incandescent or halogen loads, or 5-150W LED loads per gang. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes via front-plate controls, allowing it to pair with most dimmable lamps without additional wiring changes. Each rotary control cap provides push on/off switching and rotary dimming from the same knob.
Designed for residential and commercial installations where independent control of two lighting circuits is needed from a single faceplate, the dimmer fits a standard 25mm back box and projects just 2.5mm from the wall once installed. The flat plate design sits nearly flush with plaster, avoiding the raised profile of traditional dome-style switches. The 2-way switching capability allows the same lights to be controlled from two different wall positions using standard 2-way wiring.
The brushed chrome finish provides a directional grain across the steel faceplate that softens reflections and pairs well with contemporary and professional interiors. The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection, plus an inrush current limiter to handle the start-up surge when switching on certain LED drivers. Trimming, mode switching and factory reset are all accessible via the front control knob without removing the faceplate. The dimmer ships pre-set to trailing-edge mode, which suits most modern LED and electronic transformers.
Note that this dimmer requires all lamps on the same circuit to be from the same brand and wattage — mixing different LED brands or wattages within a multi-bulb fitting can cause flicker or inconsistent dimming behaviour.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge mode?
Trailing-edge mode suits most modern LED drivers and electronic transformers by cutting the trailing edge of the AC waveform. Leading-edge mode suits older incandescent, halogen and some magnetic transformer loads. The dimmer ships pre-set to trailing-edge, but you can switch modes via the front control knob if you experience flicker or buzzing.
Can I mix different LED bulb brands on the same circuit?
No. Knightsbridge recommends using the same brand and wattage of LED across all bulbs controlled by a single dimmer gang. Mixing brands or wattages can cause inconsistent dimming, flicker or failure to dim smoothly.
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows the same lights to be controlled from two different wall positions. This dimmer can be wired as part of a 2-way circuit using standard 3-core and earth cable, so you can dim and switch the lights from either end of a hallway or staircase.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall, making the total installed depth shallower than traditional raised-edge dimmer switches.
