Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer handles 10-200W incandescent, halogen or transformer loads, or 5-150W LED and CFL loads, across two independent lighting circuits. The dimmer automatically detects lamp type and switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes to match, with manual override available via the front control knob. Each gang operates independently with push on/off and rotary dimming control.

Designed for residential lighting control in living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms where two separate dimmable circuits need control from a single wall plate, the dimmer supports 2-way switching configurations allowing control from two locations (e.g. top and bottom of stairs, or opposite ends of a room). The black nickel screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to a 25mm minimum back box, leaving no visible fixings once installed.

The premium-grade steel construction gives a low-profile 4.3mm projection from the wall with matching black nickel dimmer caps that sit flush with the plate surface. Built-in overload and overheat protection shut the dimmer down if the load exceeds rating or internal temperature climbs too high, while an integrated Inrush Current Limiter (ICL) prevents LED startup surges from tripping the circuit. The front control knob allows trimming (setting minimum and maximum brightness), mode switching between trailing and leading edge, and factory reset without removing the faceplate.

For stable dimming performance, use lamps of the same brand, type and wattage on each circuit. Mixing different LED brands or wattages on the same gang can cause flicker or uneven dimming as the intelligent circuit attempts to balance incompatible electrical characteristics.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode suits most LEDs and electronic transformers by cutting the trailing end of the AC waveform. Leading-edge mode suits incandescent, halogen and magnetic transformers by cutting the leading edge. The dimmer auto-detects which mode to use, but you can override this via the front control knob if needed.

Can I use different LED bulbs on the same gang?

No. For stable dimming without flicker, use lamps of the same brand, type and wattage on each circuit. Mixing brands or wattages on the same gang forces the intelligent circuit to balance incompatible electrical characteristics, often causing uneven dimming or flicker.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once clipped onto the sub-frame.

How do I adjust minimum and maximum brightness?

The front control knob allows trimming (setting min/max brightness), mode switching and factory reset. Instructions are in the downloadable specification sheet. Adjustments are made without removing the faceplate or rewiring.
