Description

A rotary dimmer with two gangs, finished in a deep, slightly muted dark green with a polished chrome knob on each control. The screwless plate hides its fixings, so the front is an unbroken face of colour with only the metalwork showing. Each knob clicks on and then turns to take the light up or down, and it holds the level you set until you change it.

Because each gang works independently, one plate can handle a pendant and a set of wall lights in a sitting room, or a central fitting and a reading light in a bedroom. Each gang is two way, which lets it share a circuit with a switch at another point in the room. It is rated at 100W and made for indoor use on household lighting circuits. We like it in rooms painted in strong colours, where a plain white plate tends to look like an afterthought, and it works as well as a quiet accent against pale plaster or a papered wall.

The plate and knobs are moulded ABS with a chrome insert, and the switch is double insulated. Keep it clean with a dry cloth, and for finger marks use a cloth barely dampened with water; solvents, kitchen sprays and abrasives will dull the green. It carries a ten year warranty. We would choose it where the switch is on show rather than tucked behind a door, and it sits happily in a room that already has chrome details in play, whether that is a pendant suspension, a cupboard handle or a mirror frame.
