Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer controls two separate lighting circuits from a single 85.75mm square faceplate in polished chrome with rounded edges. Each gang handles 10-200W on resistive loads (incandescent, halogen) or 5-150W on dimmable LED loads. The dimmer switches between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes via the front control knob, giving compatibility with most dimmable lamp types without requiring back-box access.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms where two lighting zones need independent dimming control, the 2-way switching allows the same lights to be controlled from two different wall positions. Each rotary knob provides push on/off operation and continuous dimming rotation, with a soft-start ramp that extends lamp life and prevents inrush current spikes. The dimmer ships preset in trailing-edge mode, which suits most LED retrofit bulbs.

The polished chrome finish provides a high-reflectivity mirror surface that pairs with modern and contemporary interiors. The rounded-edge profile softens the transition between the faceplate and the wall, and the metal construction gives the switch a solid tactile presence. The plate requires a 25mm minimum back box depth and uses screw terminals for line-in, line-out and earth connections. Overload and overheat protection shut the dimmer down if the connected load exceeds the rated capacity or if the internal temperature rises above safe limits.

Frequently Asked

What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge mode suits most dimmable LED and electronic-transformer halogen bulbs. Leading-edge mode suits older resistive loads like incandescent bulbs and magnetic-transformer halogens. The dimmer ships preset in trailing-edge mode, and you can switch modes via the front control knob without opening the back box.

Can I mix different LED bulbs on the same circuit?

Knightsbridge recommends against mixing brands, wattages or lamp types on the same dimmer gang. Inconsistent lamp characteristics can cause flickering, uneven dimming or reduced lamp life. Use identical bulbs on each dimmed circuit for best results.

What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way switching allows the same light to be controlled from two different wall positions, such as at either end of a hallway or at the top and bottom of a staircase. This dimmer can replace one or both switches in a 2-way setup, giving dimming control from either position.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.
