Description
The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer handles 10-200W incandescent or halogen loads, or 5-150W LED loads, behind a polished brass screwless faceplate with matching brass rotary knobs. The dimmer operates in either trailing-edge or leading-edge mode, selectable from the front plate, making it compatible with most dimmable lamps without needing to access the back box after installation.
Designed for residential and hospitality installations where lighting levels need control from two locations, the 2-way switching allows the dimmer to be paired with a second 2-way switch elsewhere in the room. Each rotary knob controls an independent circuit, so two separate lighting zones or fittings can be dimmed from a single twin-gang plate. The push-on/push-off action on each knob provides quick full-power switching, while rotating the knob adjusts brightness from 0-100%.
The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed. The polished brass finish provides a warm metallic accent that pairs well with traditional, classical and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The dimmer includes overload and overheat protection, plus an inrush current limiter to prevent tripping when bulbs are first switched on. The unit is pre-set to trailing-edge mode out of the box, which suits most LED and low-voltage halogen loads, but can be switched to leading-edge mode for older incandescent or mains-halogen fittings.
The dimmer requires a 25mm minimum back box depth and fits standard UK wiring. Avoid pairing with fittings that mix different lamp brands or wattages in the same circuit, as this can cause flickering or inconsistent dimming behaviour.

Frequently Asked
What's the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge dimming?
Trailing-edge mode suits most LED and low-voltage halogen lamps and is the pre-set default. Leading-edge mode suits older incandescent and mains-voltage halogen bulbs. The dimmer can be switched between modes using the front-plate control knob without rewiring.
Can I use this with any dimmable LED bulb?
The dimmer is compatible with most dimmable LED bulbs rated between 5-150W total load per gang. However, mixing different brands or wattages of bulbs in the same circuit can cause flickering. Use identical bulbs from the same manufacturer in each fitting for best results.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with 21.3mm recessed into the back box.
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows the lights to be controlled from two different locations, such as at both ends of a hallway or at the top and bottom of stairs. This dimmer can be paired with a second 2-way switch or dimmer elsewhere in the room.
