Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang 2-way intelligent dimmer controls two separate lighting circuits from a single 89mm square faceplate in an antique brass finish. Each gang handles loads between 10-200W for incandescent or halogen, or 5-150W for LED, with automatic trailing-edge or leading-edge switching depending on lamp type. The rotary control knobs set dimming level independently for each circuit, with front-plate adjustment for trim, mode selection and reset accessible without removing the faceplate.

Designed for residential installation where two separate dimmable circuits are needed in one location, the unit suits living rooms with wall lights and downlights on separate switches, dining rooms controlling table pendant and ambient lighting independently, or bedrooms with overhead and bedside reading circuits. The 2-way configuration allows control from two locations, so the dimmer can be paired with a matching 2-way intermediate switch elsewhere in the room for multi-point operation.

The antique brass finish offers a warm, aged metallic tone with subtle darkening around edges, pairing with traditional, period and warm-toned contemporary interiors. The square edge profile sits flush against the wall with visible screw fixings on each corner and the metal caps match the faceplate finish. The dimmer ships pre-set to trailing-edge mode, which suits most LED drivers, and can be switched to leading-edge mode from the front plate if older halogen transformers require it. Integrated overload and overheat protection shut down the circuit if the dimmer detects unsafe load conditions.

Frequently Asked

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 10.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What is the difference between trailing-edge and leading-edge modes?

Trailing-edge suits most modern LED drivers and electronic transformers. Leading-edge suits older magnetic transformers and some halogen systems. The dimmer ships in trailing-edge mode and can be switched to leading-edge from the front plate if needed.

Can I mix LED and halogen bulbs on the same gang?

No. Each gang should control a single lamp type and brand. Mixing different lamp technologies or brands on one circuit can cause flickering, buzzing or dimmer failure.

What does 2-way mean?

2-way allows the dimmer to be controlled from two locations when paired with a matching 2-way intermediate switch elsewhere in the room. This is common in larger rooms where you want dimming control from both the door and the far end of the space.
