Description
The ESP CPS18W is an 18-way 12V DC power distribution unit housed in a lockable metal enclosure, designed to power multiple CCTV cameras, access control panels, or low-voltage security devices from a single mains input. The unit accepts 100-240VAC at 50/60Hz and converts it to 12V DC across 18 individually fused outputs, with a total capacity of 10 amps across all channels.
Each of the 18 outputs carries an automatic resettable PTC (positive temperature coefficient) fuse rated at 1.1A, protecting individual camera runs from short circuits or overload without shutting down the entire system. An internal rocker switch controls mains power to the unit, and individual green LED indicators on the front panel show which outputs are active and drawing current. The front panel also carries AC input and DC output master LED indicators for quick fault diagnosis.
The metal enclosure measures 250mm wide by 215mm high by 68mm deep and mounts via rear keyhole slots or screws through the back plate. Ventilation slots on the door and sides prevent heat build-up during continuous operation. The hinged lockable door allows access to the power supply module and terminal blocks for installation and maintenance, while keeping the live components secure once commissioned. The unit suits commercial CCTV installations, multi-camera domestic systems, and security integrator projects where centralised power distribution reduces cabling complexity and simplifies troubleshooting.

Frequently Asked
How many cameras can this power supply support?
The total capacity is 10 amps across all 18 outputs. A typical IP camera draws 0.3-0.5A, so the unit can support 18 low-power cameras or 10-12 higher-draw models, provided no single output exceeds the 1.1A PTC fuse rating.
What happens if one output overloads?
Each output has an automatic resettable PTC fuse rated at 1.1A. If a camera short-circuits or draws excessive current, that output's PTC fuse trips and isolates the fault. The remaining 17 outputs continue operating. The PTC fuse resets automatically once the fault is cleared and the unit cools.
Can this be mounted outdoors?
The metal enclosure is not IP-rated and is designed for indoor installation in plant rooms, server rooms, or secure cabinets. For outdoor CCTV systems, mount the unit indoors and run 12V DC cable runs to the camera locations.
Is the enclosure lockable?
Yes. The hinged door accepts a padlock or cylinder lock to prevent unauthorised access to the power supply and terminal blocks once the system is commissioned.
