Description
The Knightsbridge 13A switched fused spur unit provides switched protection and isolation for fixed appliances behind a brushed chrome flat plate with just 2.5mm projection from the wall. The fused spur isolates circuits feeding boilers, extractor fans, under-cupboard lighting, and other permanently-connected appliances, with a 13A cartridge fuse fitted inside a matching brushed chrome fuse carrier.
Designed for kitchens, utility rooms, bathrooms (outside splash zones) and commercial installations where low-profile wiring accessories are required, the unit fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The flat plate construction uses premium-grade steel with directional brushing that reduces visible fingerprints and sits flush to the wall surface. A built-in gasket behind the plate prevents dust ingress and improves the seal between plate and wall.
The switch is rated at 13A on 230V 50Hz mains, certified to BS 1363-4 for fused connection units. The unit includes an earth terminal and carries a 25-year manufacturer warranty. The brushed chrome finish pairs cleanly with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and contemporary kitchen fittings, and coordinates with other Knightsbridge flat plate wiring accessories in the same finish.

Frequently Asked
What is a fused spur used for?
A fused spur isolates and protects circuits feeding fixed appliances like boilers, extractor fans, under-cupboard lighting, or bathroom appliances. The 13A fuse inside the unit provides overcurrent protection for the appliance, and the switch allows the circuit to be isolated for maintenance without turning off power at the consumer unit.
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The flat plate adds just 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making this one of the lowest-profile fused spurs available.
Does it have a neon indicator?
No. This model does not include a neon indicator light. If you need visual confirmation that the spur is switched on, Knightsbridge produces variants with neon indicators in the same flat plate range.
Can it be used in bathrooms?
The IP20 rating means this fused spur must be installed outside designated bathroom zones where water spray could reach it. It is commonly used to isolate extractor fans or shaver sockets from outside the immediate bath or shower area.
