The Knightsbridge 13A fused spur unit provides switched control and fused protection for fixed appliances such as cookers, boilers, extractor fans and water heaters. The matt black screwless faceplate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame, eliminating visible fixings for a clean wall finish. The unit is rated at 13A on 230V mains, suitable for loads up to 3,000W.

Designed for residential and light commercial installation, the fused spur fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and includes an integrated gasket to improve dust and moisture resistance at the wall interface. The low-profile projection of 4.3mm from the sub-frame keeps the unit close to the wall, reducing the risk of accidental contact in tight spaces like behind kitchen appliances or beneath worktops.

The matt black finish is formed from powder-coated premium-grade steel, providing a durable surface that resists scratching and fingerprints better than painted finishes. The fuse holder is accessible from the front without removing the faceplate, allowing fuse replacement during maintenance without exposing live terminals. Certified to BS 1363-4 and carrying a 25-year warranty, the unit meets UK wiring regulations for fixed appliance control.

The 13A rating suits fixed appliances drawing up to 3,000W, including electric cookers, combination boilers, extractor hoods, heated towel rails, and immersion heaters. It is not suitable for socket outlets or portable appliance use.

What back box depth is required?

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once the sub-frame is fitted.

Can the fuse be replaced without removing the faceplate?

Yes. The fuse holder is accessible from the front of the unit, allowing fuse replacement during maintenance without exposing live terminals or removing the screwless cover plate.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The matt black cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the spur and re-clipped without re-wiring.
