Description

The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang unswitched socket provides a single 13A outlet behind a matt white screwless faceplate with a white insert. The unswitched design means the outlet is always live, suited to appliances that need constant power such as fridge-freezers, boilers, or phone chargers. The screwless cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box, leaving no visible fixings on the wall once installed.

Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installation, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth and carries an IP20 rating for indoor use. The 13A rating handles standard UK appliance loads up to 3,120W per outlet. The low-profile design projects just 4.3mm from the wall surface, giving a clean finish in kitchens, bedrooms, home offices and contemporary commercial spaces where minimal projection is preferred.

The matt white powder-coated steel construction provides a non-reflective surface that pairs with white walls, white tiles and light-toned interiors without creating visual contrast. The white insert behind the faceplate hides the back of the cover plate and gives a defined edge to the outlet aperture. The socket carries a 25-year warranty and meets BS 1363-2 certification for UK mains installation.

A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Why is there no switch?

Unswitched sockets are designed for appliances that need constant power, such as fridge-freezers, boilers, broadband routers or phone chargers. This avoids the risk of the appliance being switched off accidentally.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
