Description
The Knightsbridge 13A 1-gang DP switched socket combines a brushed chrome flat plate with a white insert and matching metal rocker switch. The flat plate design projects just 2.5mm from the wall once fitted, making it one of the slimmest socket profiles available and useful where wall space is limited or where a minimal projection is needed to avoid catching on furniture edges.
Designed for residential and commercial installation where a contemporary metal finish is needed, the socket fits a standard 25mm minimum back box depth. The double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when the socket is switched off, providing additional safety over single-pole switching for high-draw appliances. A built-in gasket sits between the faceplate and the wall, creating a dust seal that keeps the back of the plate clean over time.
The brushed chrome finish is applied to premium-grade steel, giving a directional grain that softens reflections and pairs well with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and handles, and contemporary metal hardware across kitchens, bathrooms and commercial fit-outs. The white insert behind the socket aperture hides the back of the cover plate and becomes concealed once a plug is connected, maintaining a clean visual line. The socket is certified to BS 1363:2 and carries a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
A 25mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The flat plate adds only 2.5mm of projection from the wall once fitted, making this one of the slimmest socket profiles available.
Can the flat plate be fitted over an existing back box?
Yes, provided the existing back box meets the 25mm minimum depth and has standard UK fixing centres. The built-in gasket creates a dust seal against the wall regardless of minor surface irregularities.
What does the double-pole switch do?
The DP switch isolates both the live and neutral lines when switched off, rather than just the live line in a single-pole switch. This provides additional safety when isolating high-draw appliances like washing machines, tumble dryers or kitchen equipment.
What other finishes are available in this flat plate range?
Knightsbridge produces this flat plate design in polished chrome, matt black, white, antique brass and other finishes. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
