Description
The UL3.4-12 is a 12V 3.4Ah sealed lead acid (SLA) rechargeable battery using valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) technology. The maintenance-free design requires no topping up of electrolyte and is sealed to prevent leakage during normal operation, making it suitable for indoor installation in alarm panels, emergency lighting units, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), and small backup power applications.
Designed for standby and cyclic use in security systems, fire alarms, emergency exit lighting, CCTV systems, and gate/door access control installations, the battery provides 3.4Ah capacity at a 20-hour discharge rate. The spade terminals accept standard 6.3mm push-on connectors for quick installation without soldering or crimping. The compact 134mm x 67mm x 61mm footprint fits most alarm panel battery compartments and small equipment enclosures.
The battery case is constructed from ABS plastic with a blue top cover and grey lower case. The VRLA design uses an internal pressure-relief valve to manage gas build-up during charging, preventing case distortion while maintaining the sealed construction. The battery weighs 1.35kg and can be mounted in any orientation except inverted. Operating temperature range is -15°C to +50°C, with optimal performance and lifespan achieved when kept between 15°C and 25°C.
The battery is supplied ready to use with no initial charging required, though charge state may vary depending on storage duration. Expected service life is 3-5 years under typical standby conditions with regular float charging. The battery carries CE certification and meets international safety standards for sealed lead acid batteries.

Frequently Asked
What is the battery used for?
The 12V 3.4Ah SLA battery is designed for standby and backup power applications including burglar alarm panels, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, CCTV camera systems, UPS units, and access control equipment. It provides power during mains failure to keep critical systems running.
Does it need maintenance or topping up?
No. This is a sealed valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery that requires no maintenance, no electrolyte top-up, and is designed to be fitted and left in service. The sealed construction prevents leakage during normal use.
How long does the battery last?
Expected service life is 3-5 years under typical standby conditions with regular float charging (trickle charge from a mains power supply). Actual lifespan depends on operating temperature, charge/discharge cycles, and charging regime. Higher temperatures and frequent deep discharges reduce lifespan.
Can it be mounted in any position?
Yes, except fully inverted (upside down). The VRLA design allows the battery to be mounted upright, on its side, or at an angle without risk of electrolyte leakage. Most alarm panels and equipment mount the battery upright or on its long edge.
