Description

The Knightsbridge LEDFRA8 is a wireless RF controller for CCT-adjustable LED flex, paired with a touch panel remote that controls colour temperature from 3000K warm white through to 6000K cool white and dims the output from full brightness to off. The controller handles 12V LED flex up to 144W or 24V LED flex up to 288W, making it suitable for runs of 4-6m depending on the flex wattage per metre.

Designed for residential under-cabinet lighting, alcove lighting, display cabinets and architectural accent installations where adjustable white light is needed, the controller sits between the 12V/24V power supply and the LED flex. The touch remote communicates with the controller via RF signal across a 20-metre detection range, allowing control from different rooms or through walls without needing line-of-sight between remote and controller. The remote features a circular touch-sensitive panel for dimming and two dedicated buttons for colour temperature adjustment.

The controller measures 81mm wide by 84mm deep by 32mm high and mounts to a surface using the two fixing slots on the base. The pressed steel and polycarbonate housing carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use only. The controller is Class III (extra-low voltage) and operates on the same 12V or 24V supply as the LED flex it controls. The remote requires three AAA batteries (not included) and will typically run for 6-12 months of daily use before battery replacement is needed.

Frequently Asked

What is CCT-adjustable LED flex?

CCT flex contains two LED chips per segment — one warm white (typically 3000K) and one cool white (typically 6000K). The controller adjusts the brightness balance between the two chips to produce any colour temperature in between. Standard single-colour LED flex is not compatible with this controller.

What's the maximum LED flex length this controller can handle?

That depends on the flex wattage per metre. At 12V the controller handles 144W total, so a 10W/m flex can run for 14.4m. At 24V the controller handles 288W, so a 20W/m flex can run for 14.4m. Most residential under-cabinet installations use 4-6m runs within these limits.

Does the remote need line-of-sight to the controller?

No. The remote uses RF (radio frequency) signal rather than infrared, so it works through walls, cabinet doors and up to 20 metres away from the controller without needing to point directly at it.

Can I use this outdoors or in a bathroom?

No. The controller carries an IP20 rating, which means it's for indoor dry locations only. It cannot be used in bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor or damp location. For outdoor or wet-location LED flex control, use an IP65-rated controller.
