Description

The Knightsbridge LEDFRA9 is a 12V/24V RF controller for RGB LED flex strip installations, supplied with a wireless touch panel remote. The controller outputs up to 216W at 12V or 432W at 24V across three channels (R/G/B), allowing control of up to 18A total current depending on voltage. The touch remote operates via RF signal with a detection range of up to 20 metres through walls and ceilings.

Designed for domestic and light commercial RGB LED flex installations, the controller sits between the 12V or 24V DC power supply and the LED strip run, handling colour mixing, brightness dimming and dynamic RGB transitions. The touch panel remote features an on/off toggle, colour wheel for direct colour selection, and brightness controls. The controller supports smooth colour transitions between programmed scenes and fade effects.

The controller measures 84mm wide by 81mm long by 32mm high and mounts to a wall or inside a ceiling void using the two slotted mounting tabs on the base. The pressed steel and polycarbonate housing carries an IP20 rating, suitable for dry indoor locations only. The remote requires three AAA batteries (not included) and uses a low-power RF transmitter that does not require line-of-sight to the controller. The controller accepts input via screw terminals marked DC+ and DC-, and outputs via three channels marked R/CH1, G/CH2, B/CH3 plus a common V+ terminal.

At 12V the controller outputs a maximum of 216W, which supports approximately 18A of total current across the three RGB channels. At 24V the maximum output is 432W. The actual strip length depends on the power consumption per metre of your specific LED flex product.

Does the remote require line-of-sight to the controller?

No. The remote uses an RF (radio frequency) signal rather than infrared, so it works through walls, ceilings and furniture within a 20-metre range. The controller does not need to be visible from the remote position.

Can multiple controllers be paired to one remote?

The product manual details pairing procedures. Some Knightsbridge RF controllers support multi-zone control, but this depends on the specific model and firmware. Refer to the manual linked in the Downloads tab above for the LEDFRA9's pairing capabilities.

What batteries does the remote take?

The touch panel remote requires three AAA batteries, which are not included in the box. Standard alkaline or rechargeable NiMH AAA cells both work.
