Description

This Knightsbridge strip-to-strip connector joins two lengths of 8mm single-colour LED flex without soldering. The polycarbonate housing measures 24mm x 12mm x 7mm and uses a clip mechanism on each end to lock onto the copper pads of the flex strip, establishing electrical contact for both 12V and 24V low-voltage systems.

Designed for indoor accent lighting installations where LED flex runs need to turn corners, span gaps, or extend beyond a single 5m reel, the connector maintains power continuity across the join. The IP20 rating limits use to dry interior locations such as under-cabinet lighting in kitchens, shelf lighting in retail display units, cove lighting in living rooms, and architectural accent strips in hallways or staircases.

The black polycarbonate finish sits flush against the back of the LED strip once clipped, keeping the connector low-profile when the installation is viewed from the front. Class III construction means the connector operates safely at extra-low voltage with no risk of mains electric contact. The clip design allows the connector to be removed and repositioned during testing or reconfiguration without damaging the flex strip, provided the copper contact pads remain clean.

Frequently Asked

Does this work with RGB or colour-changing LED strip?

No. This connector is designed only for single-colour LED flex with two copper contact pads. RGB and RGBW strips require 4-pin or 5-pin connectors to carry the separate colour channels.

Is soldering required?

No. The connector uses a clip mechanism that presses internal contact pins onto the copper pads of the LED strip. Ensure the copper pads are clean and free from oxidation before clipping the connector into place.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector is not protected against moisture ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations. Outdoor or bathroom installations require IP65 or IP67 rated connectors and matching flex.

What width of LED strip does it fit?

The connector is sized for 8mm-wide single-colour LED flex. It will not fit 10mm-wide strips or narrow 5mm variants. Check the strip width specification before ordering.
