Description

This Knightsbridge strip-to-strip connector joins two sections of 8mm single-colour LED flex with a 150mm cable bridge, rated for 12V or 24V low-voltage installations. The connector uses a tool-free click mechanism that grips the copper contact pads on the flex strip without soldering, cutting or stripping wires.

Designed for extending LED flex runs in under-cabinet lighting, cove lighting, shelving accent lighting and retail display installations where a continuous run needs to navigate corners or span gaps between fixed sections. The 150mm cable length allows the connector to bridge around obstacles, route through narrow gaps behind furniture, or transition between surfaces without pulling tension on the flex itself.

The black polycarbonate housing measures 190mm total length including both clip connectors, 12mm wide and 7mm deep, keeping the assembly low-profile enough to fit within typical LED channel profiles. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor environments only. The connector maintains full electrical continuity across the join, preventing voltage drop or flickering between strip sections when correctly seated.

Frequently Asked

What width LED flex does this fit?

This connector is designed for 8mm-wide single-colour LED flex only. It will not fit RGB, RGBW or dual-white flex strips, which use different contact pad configurations.

Does it require soldering?

No. The connector uses a spring-loaded clip mechanism that grips the copper contact pads on the flex strip when the cover is closed. No tools, soldering or wire stripping are needed.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. The IP20 rating means the connector is not sealed against moisture or dust ingress and must only be used in dry indoor locations.

How much current can it handle?

The connector is rated for Class III low-voltage installations at 12V or 24V. Maximum current capacity depends on the gauge of the internal wiring and the contact surface area — consult the datasheet linked above for exact current ratings if running high-density LED flex.
