Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch controls three independent lighting circuits behind a matt black screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. The 10AX rating handles circuit loads up to 2,300W per gang, suitable for standard domestic lighting, spotlights and LED driver circuits on 230V mains. The 2-way configuration allows each gang to be wired with a partner switch at a different location, giving two-point control over each lighting zone.
Designed for residential, hospitality and commercial installations where clean wall finishes matter, the switch uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. Once installed, no visible screws or fixings appear on the wall. The 4.3mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish that sits nearly flush with the surface, reducing the visual weight of the switch compared to deeper-set traditional plates.
The faceplate is stamped from premium-grade steel with a powder-coated matt black finish that resists fingerprints and provides a soft, non-reflective surface. The metal rockers match the faceplate finish, creating a monochromatic appearance that pairs with industrial, minimalist and contemporary interiors. A built-in gasket behind the faceplate edge provides IP20 dust ingress protection. The switch requires a minimum 16mm back box depth and is certified to EN 60669-1.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way switching mean?
2-way switching allows each gang to be controlled from two different switch locations. This is standard for staircases, hallways and rooms with two entrances, where you need to turn the same light on or off from either end. Each gang operates independently as a 2-way switch.
What back box depth is required?
A minimum 16mm back box depth is needed. This shallow requirement makes the switch suitable for dry-lining installations where deeper boxes cannot be accommodated. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame that is screwed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without disturbing the wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this 3-gang 2-way switch in polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, white and other finishes. Use the search function or filters at Niori to find other variants in stock.
