Description

This Knightsbridge 10AX 3-gang 2-way switch features three independent rocker switches behind a brushed chrome screwless faceplate. Each gang handles up to 10A at 230V, making the switch suitable for lighting circuits and low-draw appliances. The 2-way configuration allows each circuit to be controlled from two separate switch locations, typical in hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points.

The screwless design uses a separate metal sub-frame that fixes to the back box, with the brushed chrome cover plate clipping over it to hide all fixings. This gives a flush, minimal appearance with no visible screws on the wall once installed. The plate sits 4.3mm proud of the wall surface and requires a 16mm minimum mounting box depth, making it compatible with shallow back boxes in solid walls and plasterboard installations.

Built from premium-grade steel with a brushed chrome finish, the switch carries a 25-year warranty and an IP20 rating for indoor dry-location use. The built-in gasket between the cover plate and the sub-frame provides basic dust protection. The metal rockers match the faceplate finish and provide tactile feedback when switched, with a defined click at on and off positions.

What does 2-way switching mean?

2-way switching allows each of the three circuits to be controlled from two separate switch locations. This is standard for hallways and staircases where lights need to be switched on at one end and off at the other, or in rooms with multiple doorways.

What back box depth is required?

A 16mm minimum mounting box depth is needed. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted, making this one of the slimmest profile switches available.

How is the screwless plate fitted?
