Description
The Knightsbridge 10AX 2-gang 2-way switch provides dual lighting control from two locations behind a polished chrome screwless faceplate with matching metal rockers. Each gang is rated at 10AX, handling up to 2,300W per switch on 230V mains. The 2-way configuration allows the same light circuit to be controlled from two separate switch positions, typical in hallways, staircases and rooms with multiple entry points.
Designed for residential and commercial installation, the switch fits a 16mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate metal sub-frame. This means there are no visible screws or fixings on the wall once installed, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. A built-in gasket sits between the faceplate and the sub-frame, protecting the internal terminals from dust ingress in typical interior environments rated IP20.
The polished chrome finish provides a reflective metallic surface that pairs well with modern bathrooms, kitchens and living spaces using chrome taps, handles and light fittings. The premium-grade steel construction gives the 87.5mm-square faceplate a solid feel with minimal flex when operated. The matching metal rockers use the same polished chrome finish as the outer plate, creating a monochrome surface without the colour contrast of plastic inserts. Knightsbridge backs this switch with a 25-year warranty and EN 60669-1 certification.

Frequently Asked
What does 2-way mean on a light switch?
A 2-way switch allows the same light circuit to be controlled from two different switch positions. This is common in hallways, staircases and bedrooms where you enter through one door and exit through another, and want to operate the light from either location.
What back box depth is required?
A 16mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted, with an additional 13.2mm recessed into the back box.
Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?
Yes. The cover plate clips onto a separate metal sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting around the switch and re-clipped without re-wiring.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces this screwless switch style in a range of finishes including brushed chrome, polished brass, antique brass, matt black and white. Use the search function or filters to find other variants in stock at Niori.
