Description

The Knightsbridge 100A 5-way SP connector block is designed for L3 live phase distribution in single-pole wiring systems, accepting up to five conductors from 2.5mm² to 35mm² cross-section. The block uses Allen key terminals that compress the conductor barrel directly against a brass contact plate, providing a high-contact-area connection rated for up to 100A continuous load at 230V AC.

Designed for consumer units, distribution boards and sub-distribution installations in both domestic and industrial environments, the connector block allows incoming supply cables to be split across multiple outgoing circuits without needing to splice or use crimped joints. The interlocking polycarbonate body can be clipped to additional connector blocks in the same series, building multi-way distribution arrays where several phases or neutrals need to be managed in a single enclosure.

The grey and white colour coding marks this block as L3 (phase 3) in three-phase installations, though it can be used for any single-pole connection where colour-coding is not required. The IP2XD rating means the block is finger-safe and protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm, meeting the requirements for installation inside consumer units and similar enclosed spaces. Shuttered cable entries close when a conductor is removed, preventing accidental contact with live terminals during maintenance.

Frequently Asked

What cable sizes does it accept?

The connector block accepts conductors from 2.5mm² to 35mm² cross-section. This covers standard UK domestic cable sizes from 2.5mm² twin and earth up to larger commercial singles such as 25mm² or 35mm² meter tails.

Is this suitable for neutral or earth connections?

While this block is colour-coded grey/white for L3 phase identification in three-phase systems, it can be used for any single-pole connection including neutral or earth where colour-coding is not enforced. For dedicated earth connections, check if your installation requires a different block type with higher fault-current ratings.

How are the terminals tightened?

Each terminal uses an Allen key (hex key) to compress the conductor against the brass contact plate. The Allen key fitting provides higher torque than a slotted screw and reduces the risk of stripping the terminal during installation or maintenance.

Can multiple blocks be joined together?

Yes. The polycarbonate body has interlocking features that allow multiple connector blocks from the same series to clip together, building a multi-way distribution array inside a single enclosure.
