Description
The Knightsbridge FP8350PL is a 1-gang blanking plate in pearl finish, designed to cover unused or redundant electrical back boxes. The plate measures 87.5mm square with a 2.5mm projection from the wall, making it one of the thinnest cover plates in the Knightsbridge range. Constructed from premium-grade steel with an integrated gasket around the rear perimeter, the plate provides a flush seal against the back box.
Intended for residential, commercial and hospitality installations where a back box needs to be capped without being removed, the blanking plate maintains fire barrier integrity and prevents debris or pests entering the box cavity. The pearl finish is a soft, warm white tone that sits between standard white and ivory, pairing well with magnolia, cream and warm-neutral wall colours. The flat-plate design means there are no raised switch rockers or apertures interrupting the wall surface.
The plate is IEC 60670-1 certified for compatibility with standard UK 25mm and 35mm back boxes. An earth terminal on the rear allows the blanking plate to be earthed to the back box if required, maintaining earth continuity across the installation. The IP20 rating confirms the plate is suitable for dry indoor locations. Knightsbridge backs this product with a 25-year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What back box depth is required?
The plate is IEC 60670-1 certified and fits standard UK 25mm and 35mm back boxes. The 2.5mm projection means the finished surface sits nearly flush with the wall.
Why would I need a blanking plate?
Blanking plates cover unused electrical back boxes left behind after switches, sockets or other accessories are removed. They maintain fire barrier integrity, prevent debris entering the box, and give a finished appearance to the wall.
Does the earth terminal need to be connected?
The earth terminal allows the plate to be earthed to the back box if required to maintain earth continuity across the installation. Check with a qualified electrician whether earthing is needed for your specific installation.
What other finishes are available in this range?
Knightsbridge produces the flat-plate blanking plate in multiple finishes including polished chrome, brushed chrome, polished brass, matt black and white. Use the search function to find other variants in stock at Niori.
