Description
The Yewbury is a six light chandelier, 460mm across, with an antique gold frame dressed in clear and amber glass. The two glass tones do different jobs, because clear throws bright points of light while amber warms them, and together they give the fitting a honeyed cast that plain crystal does not have. Six lamps sit within the frame, and the drop adjusts from 550mm to 1620mm so it can hang low over a table or higher as a main ceiling light. At 7.9kg it is a substantial piece, so it wants a ceiling point rated for the weight.
This one belongs over a dining table, in a bay window, or centred in a living room where the amber glass can pick up warm walls and timber. We would also use it in a hallway with height, hung so the glass sits above head level and catches the light coming through the front door. It suits anyone who likes a chandelier but finds cool clear crystal too stark for the rest of their scheme, and it holds its own against strong paint colours.
The frame is metal in an antique gold finish, with clear and amber glass elements fitted through it. Six E14 LED lamps of around 6W each sit inside, and it is dimmable with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer, which matters on a fitting with this much glass to light. Dust with a soft brush and wipe individual glass pieces with a dry, soft cloth, avoiding glass sprays which can run down into the lampholders. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, and as a Class 1 fitting it needs an earthed supply. Keep other fittings in the room plain so the Yewbury reads clearly.

Frequently Asked
What are the glass details?
A mix of clear and amber glass on an antique gold metal frame. The amber warms the light the clear pieces scatter.
How heavy is it?
7.9kg, so the ceiling point needs to be rated for the load and fixed into something solid.
Which bulbs does it need?
Six E14 candle bulbs, and LED candles of around 6W each are enough behind the glass.
What is the drop range?
550mm to 1620mm, which covers a low hang over a dining table or a higher position as a main light.
How do I clean the glass?
Dust with a soft brush, then wipe each piece with a dry, soft cloth. Keep glass sprays away from the lampholders.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer, which is worth doing on a chandelier this size.
