The Yeldmoor in brushed gold is a die-cast exterior wall light, 208mm tall and 110mm wide with a 180mm projection, so it stays tight to the wall and throws light up and down the surface it is mounted on. Clear glass sits at each end of the body and the light source is integrated LED, which means there is no lamp to source or change. It is rated IP44, protected against splashing water from any direction, and weighs 0.8kg. Brushed gold is the warmer of the finishes in this shape, and it holds its colour against brick and stone better than a bright polished finish would.

We would use this outdoor wall light in pairs either side of a front door, spaced along a boundary wall, or beside a back door where the beam needs to fall on the step rather than into someone's eyes. The up and down throw gives two soft triangles of light on the wall, enough to read a house number by and to see a path clearly without lighting the whole garden. It suits warm brick, stone and painted render, and works particularly well where door furniture is already brass or gold, so the entrance reads as one piece.

The body is die-cast metal in a brushed gold finish with clear glass, built for permanent outdoor mounting. Construction is Class 1, so it needs an earth connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician who can check the gasket and the cable entry are properly made off. Cleaning is simple: switch off at the circuit, wipe the glass and body with a soft damp cloth, and dry it. Coastal homes benefit from an occasional fresh water rinse.
