Description
The Yeldmoor in brushed gold is a die-cast exterior wall light, 208mm tall and 110mm wide with a 180mm projection, so it stays tight to the wall and throws light up and down the surface it is mounted on. Clear glass sits at each end of the body and the light source is integrated LED, which means there is no lamp to source or change. It is rated IP44, protected against splashing water from any direction, and weighs 0.8kg. Brushed gold is the warmer of the finishes in this shape, and it holds its colour against brick and stone better than a bright polished finish would.
We would use this outdoor wall light in pairs either side of a front door, spaced along a boundary wall, or beside a back door where the beam needs to fall on the step rather than into someone's eyes. The up and down throw gives two soft triangles of light on the wall, enough to read a house number by and to see a path clearly without lighting the whole garden. It suits warm brick, stone and painted render, and works particularly well where door furniture is already brass or gold, so the entrance reads as one piece.
The body is die-cast metal in a brushed gold finish with clear glass, built for permanent outdoor mounting. Construction is Class 1, so it needs an earth connection and should be installed by a qualified electrician who can check the gasket and the cable entry are properly made off. Cleaning is simple: switch off at the circuit, wipe the glass and body with a soft damp cloth, and dry it. Coastal homes benefit from an occasional fresh water rinse. The Yeldmoor is also made in brushed silver, and with frosted glass, so front and back of a house can be matched.

Frequently Asked
Can it be used outside?
Yes, that is what it is for. The IP44 rating covers splashing water from any direction, so it stands up to rain on an open wall as well as a covered porch.
Do I need to buy bulbs for it?
No. The LED is built in, so there is no lamp to order, and nothing to replace behind sealed glass once the fitting is up.
What is the body made of?
Die-cast metal with a brushed gold finish, fitted with clear glass. The brushed surface keeps reflections soft rather than mirror bright.
How do I keep it looking good?
Isolate the circuit, then wipe glass and metal with a soft damp cloth and dry it off. Avoid abrasive creams and solvents. Near the sea, rinse salt away with clean water from time to time.
How much does it stick out?
180mm of projection, on a body 208mm tall and 110mm wide. It is compact enough to sit beside a door frame without crowding it.
Does it have to be earthed?
Yes. It is Class 1, so an earth connection is required and a qualified electrician should carry out the installation.
