Description

The Wistcombe task floor lamp stands 1540mm tall with a Tiffany-style shade in multicoloured leaded glass carrying the starburst pattern. Its footprint is 260mm wide and 550mm deep overall, which tells you the head is set forward of the base rather than directly above it, and that is what makes it a task lamp: the light reaches over the arm of a chair or across a desk. It takes one 40W E14 candle bulb, supplied separately, and weighs 4.9kg.

We would put it beside a reading chair, at the end of a sofa, next to a desk or in a bedroom corner, anywhere you want light on a page rather than across the whole room. Because the shade is small and the light is directed, it sits comfortably in rooms that already have a main ceiling light and just need a working corner. The shade is built from coloured glass cut and leaded on its own before soldering into a metal frame, so colour and seam pattern vary slightly between lamps.
