Description
The Swirl is a single-light wall light built around a cast resin bracket shaped as a spiral volute, finished in aged white to mimic weathered plaster or stone. A rectangular white fabric shade sits above the bracket on a metal arm, housing a single E27 bulb fitting (sold separately). The combination of sculptural resin detail and clean fabric diffuser gives the fitting both decorative weight and soft ambient light output.
Designed for hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and dining areas where traditional or transitional styling is preferred, the Swirl mounts directly to the wall with a 102mm projection from the surface. The 254mm height and 178mm shade width suit standard ceiling heights of 2.4m and above, typically positioned 1.5-1.8m from floor level for comfortable light distribution. The white fabric shade diffuses light evenly in all directions, making the fitting suitable as accent lighting on feature walls or paired in symmetrical installations either side of a fireplace or headboard.
The resin spiral bracket is cast in a mould and hand-finished to retain texture variation between pieces, so no two Swirl fittings appear identical under close inspection. The white finish on the resin has a matte, slightly chalky surface that absorbs rather than reflects light, keeping the focus on the shade output. The fabric shade is removable for bulb changes and has a shallow rectangular profile that sits close to the wall, avoiding the deeper projection of globe or drum shades.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Swirl take?
The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for soft ambient light through the fabric shade.
What wall height should it be installed at?
Typical installation height is 1.5-1.8m from floor level, depending on ceiling height and the intended use. For bedside positions either side of a headboard, 1.4-1.6m works well. For hallway or living room accent lighting, 1.6-1.8m gives comfortable light distribution without glare at eye level.
Is the resin bracket fragile?
The cast resin has some flex and is more impact-resistant than ceramic or plaster, but it should still be handled with care during installation. The spiral detail is the most vulnerable part — avoid knocking or dropping the fitting during fitting.
Can the fabric shade be cleaned?
The white fabric shade can be wiped gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but do not soak the fabric or use household sprays as these may leave watermarks or discolouration on the white material.
