Description

The Knightsbridge T8LB14 is a 1225mm single-tube batten fitting pre-wired for T8 LED tubes with internal ballasts. The fitting ships without a ballast or driver, making it incompatible with fluorescent tubes but ready for direct connection to self-ballasted LED T8 tubes that run on mains voltage.

Designed for workshops, garages, utility rooms, storage areas and back-of-house commercial spaces where functional task lighting is needed without decorative finish, the batten mounts directly to ceilings or walls using fixing points at each end. The white pressed-steel construction provides durability in non-corrosive indoor environments rated IP20.

The 1225mm length accommodates standard 4ft (1200mm) T8 LED tubes. The 63mm width and 80mm projection keep the fitting compact enough for low ceilings and confined spaces. Class I earthing is required on installation. The tube is sold separately, giving flexibility to choose the colour temperature, lumen output and beam angle that suits the application.

Does this batten work with fluorescent tubes?

No. The batten is supplied without a ballast or driver, which are necessary for fluorescent operation. It only works with self-ballasted T8 LED tubes that run directly on 230V mains voltage.

What tube does it take?

The batten takes a standard 1200mm (4ft) T8 LED tube with an internal ballast. Tubes are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 16-20W LED tube in 4000K or 6500K for workshop and garage applications.

Is the tube dimmable?

Dimming capability depends on the specific T8 LED tube you install. The batten itself does not include dimming electronics. Check the tube specification before pairing with a dimmer circuit.

What's the IP rating?

IP20, meaning the fitting is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for damp environments, bathrooms or outdoor use.
